Our work is not to gather important people. It is to try to gather interesting people well.
A list of biographies does not create a relationship. A good room needs context, difference, listening and enough time for two people to discover whether they want to speak again.
What we want to accumulate is memory of good relationships, not a larger database.

THE PRINCIPLE
The room is the unit of design.
Someone may look perfect in isolation and make little sense in a particular group. Each seat is therefore considered in relation to the others.
THE DIFFERENCE
Neither identical nor random.
Similarity can make trust easier. Difference can bring new information and perspective. The work is finding a combination in which both can coexist.
THE LIMIT
There is no formula for a good room.
We can learn from research on networks, groups and trust. We do not pretend that it produces an equation capable of predicting human chemistry. The decision still requires judgement and review.
WAYS TO RELATE
Choose the relationship that makes sense. None buys the next.
Small rooms by introduction. Each seat depends on that composition, not on purchased status.
